Leon is a native of the Metamora / Germantown Hills Area. He and his wife (Trisha) live with their 4 children (Harlan, Bennett, Claire and Leon Jr) in Germantown Hills.
Leon Graduated from MTHS in 2000 and went on to receive a B.S. degree from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale
Leon has been with the Center since 2010. He currently holds the position of Development Specialist. Primarily he works with donors and sponsors in the Tazewell and Woodford county areas and speaks to clubs and other organizations on behalf of the Center, while also giving tours of The Center's multiple facilities. Leon is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Pekin where he has held multiple board positions, he holds a position on the Campaign Cabinet for the Heart of Illinois United Way, he is an Ambassador for both the East Peoria and Pekin Chamber of Commerce and he on the board for the Germantown Hills Athletic Association.
In his free time he enjoys spending time with his children and also running races with his wife.
At The Center for Prevention of Abuse our mission is to build a safe, peaceful community by empowering everyone - women, children, and men - to live free from violence and abuse. Our program philosophy is services are provided in a non-judgmental response to the needs of the people we serve. Each individual is encouraged to understand and exercise her/his right to self-determination with the goal of eliminating abuse and violence in interpersonal conflict. All victim services are free and confidential.
Each year, The Center for Prevention of Abuse provides safety and support to over 5,000 women, men and children...of all ages....who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, elder abuse, and abuse of adults with disabilities. Additionally, The Center provides school based prevention education to approximately 20,000 students each year, focusing on body safety, positive conflict resolution, anti-bullying, and healthy relationships.
